Veterans Day Impact — Operation Full Plate 2025
In partnership with Hidden Wounds and Duke Energy, VAlanthropy took part in Operation Full Plate 2025 — honoring veterans and their families during Veterans Day celebrations. Together, the teams packed over 300 food boxes for families facing hardship and strengthened community ties with an eye toward providing tangible support and care for service members and their loved ones. Duke Energy’s $5,000 grant further boosted the impact of this collaborative initiative.

Community Support Drives Impact for Veterans

VAlanthropy is proud to share the success of two community-driven fundraising efforts that demonstrate what’s possible when people come together in support of veterans.

Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and supporters, Valanthropy raised $12,500 through the raffle of a 1995 Ford Mustang GT Convertible, with proceeds directly supporting veteran housing and services. The raffle brought together community members from across the Midlands, each ticket representing a shared commitment to honoring those who have served.

In addition to the Mustang raffle, Valanthropy celebrated another meaningful outcome rooted in local connection. After being showcased during the Irmo Okra Strut Parade, a Jeep fundraiser vehicle was purchased for $9,500 by a local veteran who connected with Valanthropy’s mission during the event. What began as a parade moment became a powerful reminder that visibility, storytelling, and presence in the community truly matter.

These efforts reflect more than dollars raised — they reflect trust, engagement, and belief in Valanthropy’s mission to build permanent housing and pathways to stability for veterans facing homelessness.

Valanthropy extends heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Every individual who purchased a raffle ticket

  • Community partners who helped amplify the mission

  • Event organizers and volunteers

  • And the veterans and families who continue to inspire this work

Each act of support helps move Valanthropy closer to a future where no veteran is forgotten and every hero has a place to call home.

Together, these moments of generosity help turn compassion into action — and action into lasting impact.

Flight Deck Luncheon Brings Community and Leaders Together to Honor Veterans

AUGUST 22, 2025

VAlanthropy was honored to host the Flight Deck Luncheon in August, bringing together veterans, community supporters, and civic leaders for a meaningful gathering centered on service, respect, and shared commitment to those who have served our nation.

The luncheon drew a strong turnout and offered attendees the opportunity to learn more about VAlanthropy’s mission to provide permanent, supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. Guests engaged in conversation about the realities veterans face when transitioning back to civilian life and the importance of long-term solutions that offer stability, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

VAlanthropy was especially honored by the attendance of Congressman Joe Wilson and members of his staff, who took time to listen, learn, and engage with the mission. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration among nonprofit organizations, community partners, and public leaders to address veteran homelessness in South Carolina and beyond.

The luncheon also served as a moment of recognition and gratitude. Veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces were represented, creating a powerful reminder of the diversity of service and sacrifice within the veteran community. Attendees came together to honor those who have worn the uniform and to reaffirm a collective responsibility to support veterans long after their service ends.

Events like the Flight Deck Luncheon reflect VAlanthropy’s belief that progress begins with connection — bringing people to the table, sharing stories, and building understanding. Through community engagement and partnerships at every level, VAlanthropy continues working toward a future where every veteran has a safe place to call home and the support needed to thrive.

VAlanthropy extends sincere appreciation to all who attended, to the veterans who continue to inspire this work, and to the leaders and supporters who are helping turn awareness into action.
