Veterans Day Community Impact Update

Valanthropy was proud to partner with Hidden Wounds this Veterans Day to honor those who served and to support families in need throughout the Midlands. Together, our teams participated in the local Veterans Day Parade, sharing our mission with the community and standing in unity for the veterans we serve.

Following the parade, Valanthropy and Hidden Wounds joined forces with our partners at Duke Energy to pack more than 200 food boxes for families facing hardship this holiday season. These boxes were filled with donations collected by both organizations and carefully prepared to ensure families received a full, meaningful holiday meal.

We are grateful to share that Hidden Wounds received a $5,000 grant from Duke Energy in support of this critical effort. Their generosity and continued partnership make a real difference in the lives of veterans and families across our community.

These moments of collaboration remind us that when we work together, we create hope, stability, and lasting change. We are deeply thankful for the strong partnership between Valanthropy, Hidden Wounds, Duke Energy, and the Sumter community — and for everyone who contributed to making this Veterans Day initiative an outstanding success.

Together, we are building stronger communities and ensuring that no veteran is forgotten.

On October 11, 2025, Valanthropy proudly joined our partner, Hidden Wounds Resource Center, to present the winner of the 1995 Ford Mustang Raffle. The celebration was held at the Hidden Wounds headquarters, surrounded by supporters, volunteers, donors, and community partners who helped make this event a tremendous success.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, donated, attended, shared the event, or supported the effort in any way. Your generosity and enthusiasm directly contributed to an outstanding fundraising success for both Valanthropy and Hidden Wounds.

Events like this not only raise vital funds—they bring our communities together, spark new connections, and strengthen the mission we share: ensuring that no veteran is forgotten and that every service member has access to the support they deserve.

Thank you for standing with us and helping turn this raffle into a meaningful win for our programs, our veterans, and our mission.

Valanthropy is grateful to share that the donated 2002 Jeep, which many of you saw showcased during local events and parades, has now been sold to a local veteran.

We deeply appreciate both the generous donation of the vehicle and the donation of the proceeds from its sale. This Jeep brought us meaningful visibility and opened doors to new community connections throughout the Midlands

Every act of support — big or small — helps move our mission forward. Thank you to everyone who played a part in turning this vehicle into hope, momentum, and meaningful impact for the veterans we serve.

Valanthropy participated in the Irmo Okra Strut on September 27, connecting with community members and sharing our mission to provide permanent supportive housing for veterans in South Carolina. Events like this help us build awareness, strengthen partnerships, and continue advocating for the veterans we serve.

On August 22, Valanthropy hosted a special luncheon bringing together community leaders, supporters, and partners who share our commitment to ending veteran homelessness in South Carolina. The event highlighted the progress of the Sumter Veterans Village—our first permanent supportive housing community for at-risk veterans—and underscored the vital need for continued collaboration.

Guests heard firsthand about the realities veterans face when transitioning out of service, the challenges of unstable housing, and how permanent supportive housing changes lives by restoring dignity, stability, and purpose.

We were honored to receive enthusiastic support, new partnership opportunities, and valuable insight from attendees who are ready to stand with us to bring these homes to completion. The momentum from this luncheon propels us forward as we work to furnish, equip, and open these homes with the care and dignity every veteran deserves.
