The Sumter Veterans Housing Community is the first permanent housing initiative developed by VAlanthropy in partnership with Hidden Wounds. This community is designed to provide Veterans with safe, stable housing alongside access to supportive services that promote long-term healing and independence.
WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS?
Veterans experiencing housing instability face higher risks of health crises, isolation, and repeated emergency interventions. Permanent housing paired with support has been shown to significantly reduce these risks while restoring dignity and stability.
This project is designed to address root causes — not just symptoms — by creating a community where Veterans can belong, heal, and move forward.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES POSSIBLE
Your support helps create more than just housing—it fosters stability, dignity, and a path forward for Veterans. With permanent housing in place, Veterans can focus on healing, rebuilding routines, and reconnecting with their community, rather than worrying about where they will sleep. Your contributions make it possible to furnish homes, create shared community spaces, and ensure that Veterans have access to the resources and connections needed to regain independence and achieve long-term stability.
